Hydrangea Altona
Hydrangea Altona
Hydrangea ‘Altona’ is a beautiful compact Hydrangea with deep blue mophead flowers in acidic soils or deep pink flowers in alkaline soil. It forms great autumn colors and is happy in sun or shade as long as the soil doesn’t dry out.
Flowers in Spring to Summer, and if you cut it back in Summer, you will get an Autumn flowering too. For Pink and Red Hydrangeas, a side dressing of dolomite lime in late Winter or early Spring, will intensify the colours.
- Grows in full sun, partial shade or shade.
- Tolerates coastal wind and wind in general. Frost tolerant
- Attractive flowers, and suitable for planting as a hedge.
- Likes well drained soil
- Grows to 1.2 to 1.5 metres
