Feijoa Anatoki

Feijoa Anatoki

Season:  Early

Fruit size:  Large

Self-fertile:  Yes

Best use:  Fresh eating & cooking

Anatoki is one of the earliest-ripening feijoa varieties and one of the most eagerly anticipated by those who grow it. It produces impressively large, oval fruit with a smooth, thin skin and generous, sweet, aromatic flesh that melts in the mouth. For gardeners who want big fruit early in the season, Anatoki is the clear choice.

The flavour is classic feijoa at its finest — intensely perfumed, sweet, and smooth with very little of the grittiness sometimes found in older or less refined varieties. The skin is thin enough that many people eat it whole, though the flesh alone is equally delicious scooped straight from the halved fruit. Anatoki also cooks beautifully and makes exceptional jam, crumble, and chutney.

Anatoki is a strong, productive grower with a naturally bushy habit that makes it well suited to hedging or use as a standalone specimen. Because it ripens early, pairing it with Kaiteri or Apollo will extend your harvest significantly, keeping feijoas on your bench from early autumn right through to mid-winter.
