Coprosma Virescens
Coprosma Virescens
Best used as a striking specimen plant and looks great in group plantings. Coprosma virescens is useful for landscaping, especially where something that does not spread too much is required.
An upright shrub with attractive thin, pale-green leaves on divaricating stems. Bark is mottled grey, pale-yellow and cream. The fruit is white/green-tinged, an important food source for birds. Fast growing, and tolerant of dry and wind. Evergreen. Hardy.
Very popular in cultivation on account of its unusual growth habit and tolerance of a range of soils and planting situations. An attractive shrub to small tree that does best in full sun but will tolerate moderate shade. Should be planted in a free draining but moist, fertile soil.
Height: up to 3 metres but can be trimmed to stay at a lower height.
