Corokia Geentys Green

A very popular Corokia hybrid with large, light olive-green leaves and an upright form.  Make a great formal hedge. Corokia “geenty’s green is an evergreen NZ native shrub with olive green foliage.   Late spring to summer small yellow starry flowers appear followed by small red berries in autumn adds to its year-round interest.   

Great as a clipped hedge. Needs full sun and good drainage. Basically bug and disease free. Hardy shru which can be grown in any NZ soil.  It thrives well in coastal conditions and is very useul for shelter for strong winds. Can be clipped to a low or high hedge or be planted a shrub in a mixed boarder.

For a low hedge of between 50cm – 1m recommended to part them 30cm apart.  For a higher hedge plant them 50cm apart.
