Sellowiana is one of the original feijoa varieties from which many of the varieties have been bred. This late season producer bears fruit in autumn which are of a medium size and very tasty. For this variety to fruit well you will need another variety to be planted nearby for fruit to be produced such like Apollos (larger).
The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer and are set amongst dark green leaves. Best when planted in full sun on a well-drained fertile site. Can cope with coastal environments, dry periods and some wind. Will tolerate frosts but need care when they are young. Sellowiana is gown for fruit production, can also be trimmed into a hedge as it forms a dense busy tree with branches and foliage to ground level. It responds well to trimming.
This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3metres in height (10 years)
Best to plant at 75 cm apart for hedging.
