Japanese Maple - Acer Dissectum Atropurpureum
Japanese Maple - Acer Dissectum Atropurpureum
This is a variety of Japanese Maple, Acer Dissectum Atropurpureum, that features a rich display of delicate, weeping foliage.
The finely cut leaves emerge a fresh green colour in spring and remain this way through summer. As autumn progreses they turn bright orange yellow tones before falling. The foilage is held on pendulous branches which gives the tree a a mound like appearance. This hardy Japanese Maple provides a great color contract in the landscape and is suitable as a focal point
Performs best in full sun on a well-drained moderately sheltered site. This plant is easily grown in moist organically rich slightly acidic well drained soils. Mulch helps retain soil moisture and keep roots cool. A lack of soil moisture or excessive exposure can cause leaf scorch.
It grows smaller and has finer leaves than the Acer Palmatum Atropureum.
Grows to 2metres tall and wide.
