Phormium Surfer Bronze

A hardy dwarf, grass-like flax. The green-edged bronze leaves are striking. Surfer Bronze is a variety of Flax that features sword-like chocolate brown leaves with a hint of olive green. 

In spring stem leaves rise above the leaves to bear clusters of yellow flowers in summer which are great for attracting birds. It grows best and produces the most intense leaf colours when planted in full sun on a well-drained site.   It will tolerate frosts, coastal conditions, wind, poor soils and cool climates.

Surfer Bronze is a versatile variety of flax that makes a fantastic addition to mixed plantings, borders, or coastal gardens, can be grown in containers. Looks greats amongst rockeries. It is also well suited for mass planting on a bank and in that situation provides an impressive display.

Height:  60cm tall and the same wide with a tidy and compact habit.
