Pomegranate Wonderful is the most popular pomegranate variety grown in New Zealand. It fruits very well in our weather conditions here. It produces juicy, sweet pomegranates that are great for eating fresh. They are very high in antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals.

Wonderful is a self-fertile variety that ripens late summer to early autumn. Plant in a sheltered, sunny position where soils are fertile and free-draining. 

  • Very large round dark purple-red fruit with medium/thick rind.
  • Deep red juicy, winey pulp with medium hard seeds. 
  • Deciduous compact tree, ideal for containerisation.
  • Vigorous and productive. 
  • Glossy leaves and bright scarlet red flowers.
  • Height 2m x 3m  2 x 3
